MIAMI ART BASEL NIGHTLIFE

SOUTH BEACH, MIAMI

Millie and I were waiting at a Collins Ave pier for a boat to pick us up. Som was taking us to this party at a private residence where the only access was by boat. I am wearing the Escape Jumpsuit by Datura with BCBGMAXAZRIA belt and clutch.

At the villa we were with old friends Soo Yeon Lee and Jimmy Goldstein; it was a lot of fun but soon we had to go to the Delano where Domingo Zapata was hosting an art event. Domingo, Logan and I spent some time at Jimmy's house in Beverly Hills the other day; he is building his own nightclub and it's almost finished! It looks really cool, like futurism from the 70s. Here we are all cozy on our way to the Delano.

Jimmy and I took this photo once at the Delano where just a couple of days earlier, we bumped into Kanye West who was alone followed only by Kim Kardashian. Kanye was super cool and said hi to us before we walked away to Chez Andre.

Here we are again sitting in the outdoor sofas at the Soho Beach House, I don't have good photos because it's dark but this is like having your living room at the beach, right on the sand by the water. A great spot to start your night in Miami or to end it if you fancy a moonlight swim.

In front of us to the left, we had our friends the creators of The Struggle dance doing the main move. In "The Struggle" you pretend to suffer, cry, and actually struggle while dancing to the music. To the right is my friend Som (he doesn't like photos) and Katie.

This is a general view to the old Playboy Theater in Miami. We came here the first night for the Lady Gaga Foundation event (where lovely Millie performed) and it served as the venue for Le Baron de Paris as well.

Met Mr Playboy (above) and Ms Playboy (below)

Same as last year, Le Baron was doing pop up clubs around Miami with the motto "Where is Le Baron?", above Millie and I on the night they did at the Playboy Theater and below the graffiti on the walls on the night they did at the Shoreclub Red Rum.

The best spot was Chez Andre, again. It has the best crowd and the best music. There's something about walking in a place where they are playing New Order and then the 13th Floor Elevators. Of course there's time for Kanye too. I like how they balance oldies with new stuff, they create a gentle, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere. They want their guests to have fun, to sing, and to dance. And they certainly succeeded.

Here's our photo at Chez Andre taken by photographer Patrick McMullan.

Comment section is available now! what kind of music do you like best when you go out? what place would you recommend in your city? If you were in Miami, tell me what was your nightlife like.

AMFAR GALA RAISES 4M DOLLARS TO MAKE AIDS HISTORY

MILK STUDIOS, LOS ANGELES

On December 12th our friends from amfAR came to Los Angeles for their annual inspiration gala. Hosted by Sharon Stone, Chelsea Handler, Keneth Cole, and honoring Goldie Hawn, Hugo Boss, and Elizabeth Taylor's daughter in law, Aileen Getty. The night was supported by many celebrity faces (pictured: Zoe Saldana, Gilles Merini, Kelly Osbourne, Devon Aoki, and Alessandra Ambrosio) and California icons such as the Chateau Marmont and Gloria Ferrer. A funny moment was when Sharon Stone kissed a bidder in the mouth to keep him bidding (and she must be so persuasive: the night raised 4M dollars!). The best part of the night was when Grace Jones performed. I think I cried when she started singing La Vie En Rose - definitely a big deal for me. I used to listen to my mom's 70s disco albums when I was very little and that song meant everything. I feel very lucky that I was able to see Grace Jones perform (she also did the hoola hop, such a diva!). I will keep reporting about the amfAR work. Big shoutout to amfAR's sweetheart Shameek Bose. Pictures by Kevin Tachman and phone.

LA BREA, LOS ANGELES

On Thursday Domingo Zapata kicked off the fabulous Golden Globes weekend with the opening of his latest exhibition and Freixenet. The event, that took place at the Lab Art gallery, was named A Nod To Matisse and it was an homage to French painter Henri Matisse. Domingo's new work is really good, the colors popped beautifully. And it was a very fun night, with lots of interesting attendees! The exhibition will stay for a month, if you are in Los Angeles stop by Lab Art and enjoy!

GOLDEN GLOBES AWARDS 2014

The Golden Globes are definitely one of the funnest times of the year in Los Angeles. Last night Logan and I ended up sitting next to Amy Poehler. She had won the award for Parks & Recreation, and it was about time after three nominations in a row! I am a big fan of Amy. These photos were taken at  the Leonardo Dicaprio and P Diddy's after party (at the recently opened 1OAK in Sunset Blvd) as well as in the staircase of Chateau Marmont - the place where Amy Poehler chose to celebrate her own Golden Globes after party. You already saw Logan and I walking the red carpet at the Golden Globes on the blog, watch it again here.

I was wearing a vintage dress that was my mom's (RIP) and I honestly was so excited to finally wear it! I remember this dress, being super little and grabbing it from her closet, dragging it around the house because it was way too long for me. I imagined the day I would wear it and it made me dream. Yesterday was the day, these photos are dedicated to her, the woman I admire the most. I love you mom.

FROM HOLLYWOOD TO BARCELONA

I am so proud of Brian Yuzna for doing his acceptance speech in Catalan, I wanted to share it. You can see it in the video attached (p.s. the cava he is cheering with is Segura Viudas). Brian is Logan's dad and he is been awarded honorary member of the Catalan Cinematographic Academy for his career in genre filmmaking. My personal favorites of Brian's work are: Honey, I shrunk the kids and his horror movies Society and Re-Animator. In addition to this, the Catalan Academy has nominated to the Gaudi Awards, cinema prodigy "kid" Carles Torrens for his film Sequence, whom I did a cameo for (see it here). Congratulations to both of them!

SPANISH TALENT TO WATCH: NATALIA BUTRAGUEÑO

I wanted to tell you about Natalia since my last time in London during Fall. When I went back to Central School of Ballet to Renato Paroni's class, my eyes, and everyone else's were set on her. Her talent captured the whole room. Originally from Madrid, Spain, and daughter of one of the most beloved Spanish athletes Emilio Butragueño from Real Madrid, Natalia has worked very hard to reach such a prominent position in the London Ballet scene at the young age of 19. Tamara Rojo already incorporated her in the Swan Lake performance at the Royal Albert Hall last year and I can't wait to see what 2014 awaits for this beauty. Remember her name.

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL POSTCARD 2014

PARK CITY, UTAH

Hello everyone and greetings from Sundance Film Festival! I am here for work, working Sundance for my first time ever. Salt Lake City and Park City are so beautiful it's all snowed in and white, really pretty! My first day was full of meetings but luckily our tour guide Derek Horne took us for dinner at vegan's paradise, MorningStar restaurant - where they took these funny photos of us. After this we headed to the iconic Egyptian theatre for the screening of Only Lovers Left Alive which is the coolest vampire movie ever made and deserves its own post (great soundtrack, great photography, great Tilda Swinton, great message). I will tell you a little bit more very soon! x

MAIN STREET, PARK CITY

The good weather during the Sundance Film Festival allowed me to change the snow boots for these cute Kelsi Dagger camel wedges, Miss Sixty jeans, grandma's old gloves and giant scarf, mom's old synthetic fur coat, and tons of layers under that... Moosey was wearing cool cowboy boots, a poncho and a hat, she knows the trends well.

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL TRANSPORTATION BY ACURA

PARK CITY, UTAH

Acura provided the transportation during Sundance Film Festival 2014 and they put cameras inside the cars so the attendees were recorded during the drives. What's particularly cool is to be able to see the filmmakers on their way to their movie premieres and screenings, I bet they are quite nervous so I am looking forward to see how the experience turned out. The cars were nice, warm and comfortable, and the drivers were really cool Utah locals. FYI for the first two pictures the car was completely stopped at the Acura base in Park City and that is why we don't have our seat belts, we always put them on when traveling by car! The rest of the photos were taken while we were using the Acura cars during Sundance.

PARK CITY, UTAH

Black is my favorite color to wear in the snow, I like the contrast against the white frozen landscape and it makes the layering mission easier. When packing for Sundance or any below zero destination I make sure to pack many black long sleeves and turtle necks as well as warm woolen tights, they make great basic underwear. I am wearing Hunter boots, neoprene pants by Topshop, and one of the many black turtle necks from Target I wore during the festival. "I love Target" (said Jack, my boss' 9 year old son, when I first arrived in the US. He was so right). It's very difficult to find turtlenecks these days, isn't it?  I love how the look would also work to rob a bank. Anyway, in the pics I am hugging a Freixenet Cordon Negro magnum bottle because it made me so happy to find my favourite cavas in Park City. They had them everywhere, it's a town with good taste! This is the "Extra Dry" one which is less dry than the "Brut" but hey, that's a whole other post.

PARK CITY, UTAH

Sure there's many parties going on during Sundance but the best night plan for me was a little walk through Main Street, midnight vampire movie at the Egyptian, and going back home right after. Luckily there was a fire place at the apartment where we stayed and it was so nice to sit around the fire, have a glass of Freixenet cava, and talk about our day's projects and favorite movies.

DAFT PUNK GRAMMYS AFTER PARTY

Daft Punk had a lot to celebrate last night in LA as they won two (not one, two!) Grammy awards for Album and Record of the year so we decided to join their after party at the legendary Park Plaza hotel in downtown. It was very fun to see Jay Z and Beyonce dancing, they are a very cute couple! They made me miss Logan, he stayed home last night, but glad I went for a bit. Dancing to "Around the World" at a Daft Punk party was priceless.

The look:

I was wearing vintage pants and clutch, DKNY cropped top, and Topshop crochet top above (with Topshop shoes, not pictured).
